Cool brick, slick, wet pavement, weak light creeps into the alley
The embrace smelling of Polo cologne, cigarettes and a warm denim jacket
Pressed into one, kissing hungrily, his hands running across her back
Oblivious to the world, outside of theirs.
Trifecta: Week Thirty-One: This week’s word is:
ALLEY (noun) 3: a narrow street; especially : a thoroughfare through the middle of a block giving access to the rear of lots or buildings
Beautiful description. Is the love allowed or not? I wonder.
I swear I smell Polo and cigarettes now!
Age isn’t mentioned here, but I’m thinking high school? Maybe because I dated a guy in H.S. that wore Polo…who knows! (We don’t have alleys in our area, so this kids here go to movie theaters :))
I think that combination was a smell that only an eighties high school girl can appreciate.
I swear I share this memory♥ Jim, Levis 501 jeans, Springfield Illinois, after a Bryan Adams concert.ah….A whiff of Polo transports me even now…
Wow. This was from Decatur, Illinois…maybe it’s strictly a central Illinois phenomenon!
Well done…leaves me mourning those alley moments. 😉
I had a few moments like that back in the day. You captured it nicely!
This definitely went on in alleys, at least in the ones I knew. AND with the same Polo cologne because that was so big back in the day. You’re right, that was the guys smell! Made me kiss my first boyfriend.
good capture of so many alleys I can think of in my history …
like so many alleys I can relate to …
I like “weak light”. I totally get it. Great job in such a short space!
I remember Polo. And what my friend called bomber jackets. Thanks for bringing it all back.
Beautiful.
Nice, you gave enough details to bring back memories, but left enough out to keep us wondering. A great mix, thanks for sharing this!
Polo and denim jackets. I think you’ve nailed it! Thanks for linking up. I like your restraint here. Nice job with the prompt. Hope to see you back soon.
I love how the cologne and jacket set the scene here!
