Finally, a family, a feast and fun

My sis-in-law has come to visit for a few days.  She has been living in Chicago for the last couple years and hasn’t been home for at least a year.   What a difference a year makes!   We have so much gossip to spread news to catch up on.   She brought her son, P, with her and my boys are so happy to see him.  He is almost eight.   He and M are only about 5 months apart in age but now about the same height – very strange to see them looking so similar in build.   When they were younger the age difference always seemed so big!    My BIL has a new girlfriend and she has two girls, so that will be a change for us, as we all just have little boys.

We had a cookout for the “estranged” siblings and their grandma, GG.  Six, possibly seven adults and seven children were what we were expecting.  A couple more showed up to visit and we just kept dragging out food and eating and cooking and talking.  It was so nice to see everyone together again.

The kids, more or less, played together nicely.  The usual squabbling occurred but really was minimal.  The poor girls were outnumbered, but handled it well.  The boys were…well, boys.  The day ended with hugs and kisses and none of them wanted to leave us, so I would call that success.

About KimB

I am a mommy to 3 wild and wonderful boys, wife to my husband. I am a stay-at-home mommy, who would like to work if the perfect job came along. Trying to find a way to make money from home so we can have more of the "wants" not just the "needs". We live in the sort of-country and have a pretty big garden, but no animals, except one small, dark, and furry dacshund.
